The International Standards Organization definition for interpreting as:

Rendering a spoken or signed message into another spoken or signed language, preserving the register and meaning of the source language content.

In the language industry, there are three primary modes of interpreting: consecutive, simultaneous and sight translation. In simultaneous interpreting, the interpreter listens and renders the message in the target-language at the same time as the speaker is speaking. In consecutive interpreting, the interpreter speaks after the source-language speaker has stopped speaking. Sight translation is the oral rendition of a written text.

Legal and Court Interpreting

Transcription Partners offers highly experienced and professional interpreters for the legal industry. Our legal and court interpreters understand the specialized vocabulary of legal proceedings and the protocols of the courtroom, as well as the role that the judge, attorneys, witnesses, reporters, and other participants each play in that world.

Ethical and Professional Responsibilities

Transcription Partners interpreters adhere to canons of professional responsibility.

Remote Interpreting

While in-person interpreting is preferred, remote interpreting is a useful alternative, especially for shorter appearances involving a language for which a qualified interpreter is not locally available. To ensure the high quality of interpreting services delivered remotely, Transcription Partners ensures that the appropriate equipment and procedures are implemented.
